Gunni Omann
1930 — 2009
Gunni Omann’s most recognizable pieces are waist-high: elegant sideboards, tables, desks and low cabinets. They aversion to knobs, inset lines, and embrace of opposing grain (often teak) give them their recognizable flair. His shape of choice was the extended horizontal rectangle, suggestive of anamorphic movie landscapes, which he consistently reworked, doubled and combined.
