Kaare Klint

1888 — 1954

The son of an equally influential architect, Kaare Klint was considered the father of modern Danish furniture design.  He founded the furniture school at the Royal Academy in 1924, influencing future generations of designers with his attention to high quality materials and proportions adapted to the human body. In later life, he completed a number of his father’s uncompleted projects, including the Grundtvig’s Church in Copenhagen.
