Preben Fabricius & Jorgen Kastholm

1931 — 1984,  1931 — 2007

Working in the zeitgeist of 60s design, Preben Fabricius and Jorgen Kastholm founded a studio together that would go on to create some of the decade’s most classic shapes, such as the bucket chair.  Their main concern was to clearly state the function of an aesthetic form, an intention that merged material, ergonomics, and shape. The bucket chair won the very first German prize for “Good Shape” (“Gute Form”) in 1969.
