Verner Panton
1926 — 1998
Verner Panton created futuristic designs with a variety of materials, including plastic. His use of bright colors and vivacious shapes was patently 60s, but has gained popularity in the last several decades as classic pieces, and some of his designs remained in production into the 21st century. He made bold proposals, including a collapsible house, entire psychedelic environments, and his “S Chair,” which was inspired by the human tongue.
